Hello! I'm Nate Reif-Wenner, a web developer and designer. This is my passion. Let me show you what I have to offer!
I Wish I Were The Man Of Steel
I am a recent graduate from The Art Institutes International of Minneapolis where I received an A.A.S. degree in Web Design and Interactive Media.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So outside of work I am a father of two wonderful girls, self-proclaimed film aficionado, and l33t gamer (or at least I like to think so). Enjoy my portfolio!
Each project that I work on presents it's own challenges. For me, the brainstorming phase of any project consists of gathering information and inspiration for my website and beginning to plan my game plan for the website. Some of this planning includes gathering inspiration for my project and creating a mood board, building the foundation for my project through wireframes, and establishing how my users will interact with my website based on a visual flow chart.
Once I have gathered some inspiration for my new project, it is time to begin the design process. This is the stage in which I finalize choices such as color scheme and the theme or feel I want my project to have. Once I have a good idea of the overall look I begin to create mock-ups of my website, and begin creating my assets that I will use on my website.
The building stage is personally my favorite stage of any web development project. At this point I have made all the major decisions concerning my design and for the most part my content. I start by grabbing a nice warm cup of coffee (or in some cases a cold beer) and begin building the HTML structure for my project. Once this is done I move on to my CSS, Javascript, and if necessary, my PHP for my project. This stage also includes testing my project on multiple platforms and browsers.
Class project in which we created a website that utilized AJAX for page navigation. Throughout the quarter the class worked together to write the necessary Javascript to enable page navigation through AJAX. Once the Javascript was finished, we were tasked with designing the website. I chose to create a fictitious all female rock band called Without.
I was contracted by an acquaintance to build a website for her non-profit organization-The Thrive Initiative of the St. Cloud Area. This organization acts as a resource for professionals and families dealing with early childhood mental health. The client wanted to ensure the information was more accessible via a website.
This was a class project in which I created a brand identity for a fictional company. The next step was to build a promotional website based on the company that had created. Within the website I included a Twitter Feed and created Facebook page that was linked to the website.
